THE BUDGET PATHWAY FOR INDEPENDENT TRAVELERS

For budget-conscious travelers, public buses (locally known as guaguas) are the best route. There is no direct public bus linking Punta Cana to Bayahíbe town, so the journey requires boarding a SITRABAPU bus heading to La Romana and getting off midway at the Cruce de Bayahíbe crossroad.

From Cruce de Bayahíbe, you will transfer to a local public guagua for the final leg to Bayahíbe center, or take a short taxi ride. It requires traveling light and checking timetables, but it saves a significant amount of money compared to private services.
